Autumn Term 2024

Date: 12th Nov 2024 Author: Web Administrator

All sections of the Group have had a great first half of term. The Scouts improved their bicycle maintenance knowledge and learnt some new Bushcraft skills – the whittling looks great fun!. Many congratulations to Julia on completing her Wood Badge training as a Scout Leader! The Cubs explored the local area on the Barnes trail and also celebrated Halloween with some traditional games – donuts with no hands, apple bobbing and making pumpkin lanterns. Both the Cubs and Squirrels also tried mummy wrapping! The mummies look brilliant! The Beavers visited St Mary Magdalene’s and Keith invested Jo as a new leader.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
