The Group History

The 2nd Mortlake Scout Group was founded on 11th June 1919 and has occupied its current building since then. The annual photographs around the walls of the hut are testament to the success of the Group over the years. They also commemorate the hundreds of volunteers over the decades who have enabled generations of young people to benefit from all that Scouting has to offer.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
